Funbrain.com is a kids e-learning site aiming to support the learning needs of kindergarten through to 8th grade. DozenKids.com took a look at their kids education website to get a feel for what’s on offer.

This site has an English and Math focus.  It includes online Adlibs (a word game that kids love), grammar games, book excerpts, math car racing games, sudoku, activities about the weather and board games.
Confusingly, sitting alongside these resources were also games with no learning content at all; such as the Penguin Drop flash game where you simply pelt parachuting penguins with snowballs.  The site has a bit of an identify crisis and needs to decide where to focus.

The games are quite a creative way to practice English and Math.

What can you learn on here? We graded the variety of subjects available on the site..
The games on offer did not initially appear to be plentiful and our initial assessment was that funbrain.com lacked breadth of content compared to competitors. 
However, we persevered and indeed found many more games.  This site is held back by its poor design and navigation.  The best way to find the full resources on funbrain.com is to use the search by grade facility.  It is no good having content that nobody can find.
In addition the focus of the site is quite narrow – mainly English and Math, with the wider curriculum not touched upon.

What else can I do here? We gave extra points to sites with real-time betting, video, HD, mobile and audio..
There were blogs on the site split by gender and age.  Otherwise there were no interactive elements.

There is an interesting, daily blog on the site, with plenty of viewer comments, as well as a message board facility. There are also sporadic live chats on specific topics. 7/10
