Wordcentral is from the Merriam-Webster stable, whose roots are in dictionaries and reference tools. We thought we would look up one of their e-learning websites, wordcentral.com to see they approached kids education.

Wordcentral.com has a range of English language games including word definitions, spellings, un-jumbling words. There are also daily buzzwords and an online dictionary, thesaurus and rhyming dictionary. The educational value of the games is good, although the variety is thin and the quantity of resources on offer are somewhat miserly.

Many of the educational games are modern versions of old classics. The site plus the contents do not stand out as being high up on the creativity scale.
