The list of features is not as broad as some parental control software on the market, it offers:

Internet filtering, monitoring and management. It can also filter or block instant messaging, P2P file sharing or software such as games.
Cyber Patrol blocks inappropriate words or phrases in websites, emails and chat. This includes blocking the release of personal information. However, it does not record emails and chat in the way that other sites do.
It can be flexibly programmed to limit computer activity and can also differentiate between internet, games and program usage.
Reports can be daily or weekly but there are no instant alerts.

Password override for time constraints and internet site blocks.

$40 annual subscription for up to 3 PCs – the combination of low price and multiple PCs appear to make this a good offer but as it doesn’t have the sophistication of other software the price may well reflect its limitations.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

It takes a few clicks to get to the product page as it sits within a wider site containing other internet control software. Once at the Cyper Patrol page, the features are presented in a short list. One nice touch is that they are accompanied by a screen shot, which enlarges when the cursor is placed over it. There are also three ‘clickable’ tabs covering different information categories.

Disappointingly, you are unable to drill down for more detail on individual product features and generally the site lacks a cohesive menu driven system and adequate levels of interrogation.

How good are the descriptions of the products on this site? Does it use easy to follow language or complex computer jargon? We evaluated the descriptions displayed..

The features are listed with minimal detail, although they are clearly written and easy to understand. The screen shots are a nice touch but generally the site is not impressive and you don’t leave with enough detail to compare it to other kids’ safety products and kids safe chat.

Email support is available but only 5 days a week. Since most people shop for this type of product or install new software over weekends, the availability of help is a little disappointing.
