Iambigbrother has the ‘leading internet monitoring software’ according to their site. With so much competition in the parental control software market, Dozen.com decided to check out their claims.

Iambigbrother is a web monitoring tool

I am Bigbrother.com has the following main kids safety features:

-   Monitoring and recording of keystrokes to record emails and chats.
-   Logs programs run, sites visited and filters out inappropriate sites
-   Takes screenshots when banned words or phrases are used

One downside of the product is that although it does a fine job of monitoring and informing, it doesn’t block access to contents or sites.

It also may tell you that inappropriate sites were viewed on the computer but you cannot determine how long these were viewed for and by which computer user.
Most parents are looking specifically for software that can control computer usage and not just passively monitor it. The lack of detailed monitoring information and its failure to block gives this product the thumbs down as a parental control tool.

$30 for one computer. One of the cheapest on the market but an extra $9.99 subscription if you want a remote monitoring/reporting function.

Sniper Spy use Authorize.net security. Payment is by credit card. No PayPal or other options.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

The site has a top bar menu containing clear categories and it is easy to locate specific information.

However, there are missed opportunities on this site. The home page contains a list of features next to product photos and we assumed that we could click on individual features to find out more… we were wrong. All the features were simply listed together on one page.

The navigational features on this site generally lack imagination.

How good are the descriptions of the products on this site? Does it use easy to follow language or complex computer jargon? We evaluated the descriptions displayed..

This is a very stark, white site which contains information on this internet control software’s features; screen shots of the software, live and flash demos.

The information provided is not particularly comprehensive but it does at least explain difficult terms, for example, ‘stealth mode’.

Competitors provided much more detail on their sites and this just looked a little thin compared to them.

On the whole though, the site has a cold, unwelcoming feel, compared to rival sites.

There is an email form to submit queries but it looks more tailored to problem solving for product users and not sales enquiries.

We’d love to tell you the USP of this product but to be honest, out of all the sites we viewed; this one had the fewest specific details about their product. Since they weren’t able to promote how they stood out from the competition, and all the information they provided did not differ from their rivals, our guess is they just aren’t unique. Sorry guys – if you’re so leading edge, tell us why!
