Kidswatch claims to have the solutions for ensuring safe computer usage by kids but do their claims stand up to close scrutiny?

The focus of this tool is threefold:

• Internet and download monitoring and control
- Four pre-defined profiles for different ages which can be further customized by parents.

• Kids Safe Chat
- This not only records IM and chat conversations but underlines suspect words or phrases. Alert words can be set to include a phone number, address or child’s name.

• Time monitoring
- Checks out how long they stay on the computer and sets controls to manage this.

Parents can set up real-time and email alerts for breaches of any set boundaries. They can also use override
passwords if they decide to allocate more computer time or allow access to a banned site.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..

Kidswatch contains a lot of detail and the navigation tools are, thankfully, up to the job and easy to use as compare to other kids websites.
There is also a search facility which lists all features and which can be clicked on for further information.
All in all a very neat, well organized site.

The home page has the image a shield with different features listed on it. When you click on these you are taken to a well-written, informative page all about that particular feature.
