4kidstv is an online video vault of kids TV programs from the 4kids channel. They have made the transition onto the net, hoping to grab a large online audience. Let’s take a look at their site to see if it pulls all the punches.

4kidstv is part of the 4Kids Entertainment group of sites. We have reviewed this site as a stand alone site. 4kidstv contains full videos as well as previews. It covers seven different channels, each with a slightly different focus, such as, ‘Girl Power’ and ‘Go Zone’.

These kids television channels have a massive back catalog of episodes that will keep many kids glued to the screen.

What they have provided is of a good quality and there is a wide range of videos.

The problem is that these videos are the only content on the site. In order to compete with their rivals they’re going to have to be more creative and add a bit more excitement into the mix

Bearing in mind this is a kids tv site, it all felt a little inappropriate. The odd advert is fine but this felt a bit like overkill.

There are no social options on the site; the focus here was definitely watching videos as opposed to chatting about them.

How good is the picture quality on this site? Is the video picture blurred or clear? Do they offer HD? .

Kids TV shows are listed by ‘most popular’, ‘most rated’ and ‘alphabetical’. Once you find a show you like the episodes are then listed by season.

Whilst the categorization is fine and it was easy to search the site, there are no helpful information pages talking about the listed site.

4KidsTV makes very little effort to help its visitors; it doesn’t even a site map! 4kidstv is just a stash of videos without any other information, debate or associated activities.

Ok, how fun is this site? Are there games on offer? Does it do stupid things to photos? Run stupid competitions? We gave extra points for craziness..

Whilst the range of videos is fine, we felt that, to keep up with the competition, 4kidstv really needs to broaden its scope into games, messaging and other activities. Kids these days simply expect more!

Why is it different to other kids TV sites? We graded originality and innovation..

The thinking behind this site is all a bit narrow – with more imagination it could be transformed into a much more happening place for kids to hang out.

Other sites in the 4Kids Entertainment group offer broader services; it is not clear why this site does not have its own identity and functionality. It feels like the poor relation.
