Allkids.co.uk is an online parenting magazine with a section relating to online kids TV. They act as a directory, signposting viewers to other children’s television sites.

What can be watched on this site? This grades the range of videos, topics, songs and the overall quality of content on the site..

The Kids TV Directory

This directory lacked color, graphics and interest.

There are three categories, ‘little kids and toddlers’, ‘kids’ and ‘older kids’. Within these are website links for the many UK kids’ TV shows. It is not clear how these have been chosen.

The site also has another menu which lists choices more online resources, such as sites with nursery rhymes and ‘boredom busters’.

There is not enough on this site to make it worth a special visit; there is no real difference to using this site and typing in a category on a search engine. If it wants to be a useful, busy site then it needs to add far more value to what’s on offer.

The songs and activities the site signposts through too are educational, as are many of the kids online TV sites. However, this site can’t bask in the glory of other sites so cannot be said to provide much educational value in its own right.

The site is very text based – no useful logos here, as with spreety.com.

The content on the site is quite limited so navigation is not particularly problematic. On the other hand, the contents are very limited which goes some way to disguising a navigation tool that lacks imagination and design.

Ok, how fun is this site? Are there games on offer? Does it do stupid things to photos? Run stupid competitions? We gave extra points for craziness..

The site does not have the color and pizzazz of other sites. It lacks interest and does not seem like a kids site at all. It may signpost to fun places but the allkids.co.uk TV site feels like a lackluster, serious place to visit.

The concept is not original nor is the site itself. The only distinguishable thing about this site compared to others which serve the same purpose, is that it lacks any kind of flair or imagination.

All of the content is child friendly and the adverts are appropriate. There is no kids chat facility so the site does have a safe feel to it.
