A Mammoth Task

The project was an incredible two years in the making and involved the shipment of puppets from all over the world.   On the musical side, the original voice artists recorded the song and the mix took a whopping 132 hours to perfect.

The video was even more complex.   The final scene, which includes a 9 second scene of 45 puppets swaying along to Hey Jude, took an unbelievable six 15-hour days to shoot, with animation of each characters needing filming 10,125 times to get the final footage.

The Work Pays Off

Emily Whinnett, Chapman Entertainment's production director, said: "Blood, sweat and tears went into this. There were moments we thought it wasn't going to work."
The 4min 45sec video is being released by Sony Music Entertainment and the song is available on iTunes and on CD and DVD.
The Children in Need charity has raised over 20 million pounds from this year's event.
